December 2025 saw the global maritime community focus its attention on Shanghai as the 22nd Marintec China opened grandly at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. As China's most influential maritime event, this edition themed "Intelligent, Green, Sustainable" brought together the world's leading shipbuilders, equipment suppliers and technology innovators. Taizhou Changlong Shipbuilding, under its exhibition theme of "Innovation-Driven, Value Co-creation," made a remarkable appearance with multiple innovative technologies and solutions, comprehensively showcasing the company's latest achievements in green shipping, intelligent vessels, and customized construction.

Concentrated Display of Innovative Products and Technologies

At Booth A25 in Hall E3, Taizhou Changlong's meticulously designed 180-square-meter exhibition area was divided into four functional zones, attracting numerous domestic and international professional visitors.

In the "Green Power Solutions" zone, the company publicly displayed for the first time its independently developed "CL-ECO Series Hybrid Power System." Designed for small and medium-sized bulk carriers and container ships, this system can automatically switch power modes according to different voyage segments, with actual measured data showing 15%-25% fuel savings. Particularly noteworthy was the "Modular Ammonia Fuel Solution" developed in cooperation with a leading domestic energy enterprise. This solution employs standardized interface design, enabling traditional vessels to upgrade to clean energy ships at relatively low cost. A shipowner representative from Singapore commented after detailed examination: "This progressive retrofit solution is very pragmatic, offering flexible options for our fleet's decarbonization pathway."

The "Intelligent Vessel Experience Zone" was one of the exhibition highlights. Using Augmented Reality (AR) technology, visitors could intuitively understand the fully integrated intelligent management system designed for our 38,000 DWT bulk carrier. This system incorporates multiple functions including energy efficiency management, equipment health monitoring, route optimization, and automated report generation. During the exhibition, our technical team demonstrated how to remotely monitor vessel operational status through a mobile application, attracting keen interest from numerous young shipowners and technical personnel. A Technical Director from Europe remarked: "This user-friendly interface and practical data visualization are exactly what our fleet digitalization requires."

Professional Insights Shared at Technical Forums

During the exhibition, Taizhou Changlong actively participated in multiple professional technical forums. The company's Chief Engineer delivered a speech titled "Pragmatic Innovation: Emission Reduction Practices and Economic Analysis for Small and Medium-Sized Vessels" at the "Green Transformation Pathways for Small and Medium-Sized Vessels" sub-forum, sharing the company's practical project experience in areas such as LNG dual-fuel retrofits, shore power system integration, and waste heat recovery. The proposed "Phased Emission Reduction Pathway" and "Sensitivity Analysis Model for Investment Payback Period" received high recognition from attending experts.

At the "Intelligent Vessel Standardization Development" roundtable discussion, our Digitalization Department Head engaged in in-depth exchanges with experts from classification societies, universities, and technology companies. Taizhou Changlong's proposal of an "Iterative Optimization Method for Intelligent Systems Based on Actual Operational Data" sparked extensive discussion, with multiple industry professionals acknowledging that this approach could help address the disconnect between intelligent systems and actual vessel operations.

In-Depth Exchanges Lead to Multiple Cooperation Intentions

Over the four-day exhibition period, Taizhou Changlong's booth received over 1,200 professional visitors from 32 countries and regions, including shipowner representatives, ship management companies, design institutes, financial institutions, and industry media. We conducted deep technical exchanges with eight shipowners from Norway, Greece, Japan, and Singapore, reaching preliminary cooperation intentions with three of them involving a total of six vessels of different types.

Particularly noteworthy was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with an internationally renowned energy company for the joint development of "Methanol-Ready Tankers." This project will combine both parties' expertise in ship design and clean energy application to jointly develop new vessel types adaptable to future fuel transitions. Additionally, we established strategic cooperation with two leading domestic ship design institutes to conduct in-depth R&D collaboration in intelligent systems and green technology integration.

During the exhibition, Taizhou Changlong's "Modular Deck Barge Design" was nominated for the "2025 Maritime Innovation Award." This design can quickly adapt to different offshore operational requirements through standardized module combinations, significantly shortening design and construction cycles.

Industry Trend Insights and Strategic Reflections

Through deep participation in this maritime exhibition, we keenly identified several important industry trends: first, the diversified development of green power technologies with competitive landscapes forming around different fuel pathways; second, vessel intelligence is transitioning from the proof-of-concept phase to large-scale application; third, shipowners' focus on whole-lifecycle vessel economics now surpasses their concern for single-vessel construction costs.

Taizhou Changlong's General Manager stated at the exhibition's conclusion: "Marintec China 2025 provided us with a valuable platform for industry exchange. We not only demonstrated our technical capabilities but, more importantly, gained clearer insight into industry development directions through in-depth exchanges with global peers. Taizhou Changlong will continue to adhere to an innovation-driven development strategy, focus on customer value creation, engage in international cooperation with a more open attitude, and contribute the wisdom and strength of Chinese private shipbuilders to the green and intelligent transformation of the global shipping industry."

The fruitful results achieved at this exhibition will further advance Taizhou Changlong's progress in international development and technological innovation, laying a solid foundation for the company's development in 2026.
